As a leading Department of Defense contractor, our dedication to excellence has made us one of the most respected electronic manufacturers in the industry.The Electro-Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer I provides real time, in-process manufacturing engineering support for supervisors and operators actively engaged in electro / mechanical assembly operations.Position Responsibilities:

Develop Automated Machine programs for equipment such as SMT pick and Place, Automated Optical Inspection, Automated Soldering, and Flying Probe Test Equipment.

Ability to diagnose and repair equipment such as SMT pick and Place, Automated Optical Inspection, Automated Soldering, and Flying Probe Test Equipment.

Ability to understand and troubleshoot electronic circuits from a manufacturing standpoint.

Circuit board production involves knowledge skillsets from the following disciplines Electronics / Technology, Mechanical, Chemistry, Heat transfer, Software / Programming. You need not be the subject matter expert in all of these but the ability to understand them is needed.

Develops detail work instructions and production routers based on a thorough evaluation and clean understanding of the technical data package (TDP) provided by the customer.

Provides manufacturing engineering oversight for First Piece audits as required by manufacturing operating procedures.

Evaluates, develops, and recommends manufacturing processes and process instructions by conducting initial assessment of assembly issues during assembly. Reviews suggested changes with appropriate manufacturing engineer, supervisor and assembler.

Redlines work instructions to correct any errors or provide clarification. Coordinates with the appropriate manufacturing engineer to ensure edits are incorporated into official documents.

Improves manufacturing efficiency by working on the production floor to identify and design fixtures and tooling to aid assembly operators and to assist supervisors in specific actions to reduce assembly time.

Provides documentation support during new product release and subsequent contract release by participating in activities that support bill of material maintenance, engineering change orders, and rework routers when required.

Conduct analysis on TDP to determine corrective actions when necessary.

Generate Engineering Change Requests ECRs

Implement Engineering Change Order (ECO) and rework instructions

Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization.Skills & Abilities:

Understanding of lean manufacturing, synchronous flow manufacturing, and work balancing

Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures

CAD or similar software platform

CAD/CAM Circuit Design or similar software

Possesses attention to detail and problem solving skills

Ability to work independently and as a team player

Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to work in a complex contract manufacturing environment with constantly changing customer demands including a vertically integrated assembly environment with circuit card assembly, wire harness, chassis build requiring integration of multi-level sub assembly.Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Electronics or Mechanical or similar(Bachelors Preferred)

1 years of experience on a manufacturing engineering team, preferably in a related industry, or in a similar environment of high mix/low volume production.

Experience with translating Mechanical drawings contained in the TDP to operational instructions.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security ClearanceWork Environment:

Office and Man facturing floor; Requires physical capability to work up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Hours: 6:30 AM 4:00 PM Monday Thursday; Friday 6:30 AM 3:00 PM with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations.
