Description Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an experienced Accounting professional to support a contract (potential contract to hire) role with a Manufacturing client in Lancaster, OH. The role will cover a vacant Assistant Controller position, performing month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting duties. Role will require some overtime most weeks (paid at 1.5x the hourly rate). The ideal candidate will have prior experience at the Sr. Accountant or Assistant Controller level within the manufacturing industry who would be interested in a potential long-term employment with the client following the contract period. The work is to be performed 100% onsite at the client's location in Lancaster, OH.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage month-end close processes. Prepare and maintain journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensure accurate financial reporting and record keeping. Supervise a small team of accountants and a cost accountant. Utilize SAP for various accounting operations. Handle light financial planning and analysis tasks. Collaborate with the Controller for efficient financial management. Monitor and manage customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary. Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency. Maintain accurate customer credit records.Requirements Possession of a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on financial management and strategic planning. Proficiency in SAP software for managing business operations and customer relations. Prior experience in the manufacturing industry, with a thorough understanding of its financial complexities and challenges. Demonstrated experience in month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Expertise in financial statement preparation, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and make strategic recommendations. Excellent communication skills to effectively present financial information to stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide a team. High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a preference for a CPA or similar certification. Proven ability to use financial software and databases, along with standard office software like MS Office.
