Inventory Specialist / Team Leader

Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized, proficient, and self-motivated Inventory Specialist / Team Leader to manage daily inventory operations for our fast-growing sneaker resale business. This person must be able to operate at a very high level of accuracy and consistency, and be fully committed to keeping the business organized, efficient, and profitable.

This is a leadership role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to manage inventory systems, logistics, and workflow.

Core Responsibilities:

Daily Inventory Management:

Receive and scan incoming inventory using a barcode/scanner app

Log, tag, and organize all inbound and outbound shoes with perfect accuracy

Duplicate and add inventory as needed without errors

Prepare shoes for shipment and manage stockroom layout

Organize shelves and maintain a clean, logical system

Order Tracking & Fulfillment:

Monitor the app daily for shoes in transit and identify any lost or delayed items

Track shipment statuses seven days a week and take action if issues arise

Communicate with platforms like GOAT or StockX when necessary for delayed/lost packages

Technology & Systems:

Maintain accurate records using Google Sheets or Excel

Be proficient in scanning inventory in and out using a mobile app or handheld scanner

Update and reconcile inventory databases in real-time

Leadership & Communication:

Act as the point person for all inventory-related operations

Consistently update the business owner and relevant team members with clear summaries

Provide guidance to other team members and help coordinate inbound/outbound plans

Be willing to adjust plans and troubleshoot inventory or shipping issues on the fly

Key Qualities for Success:

Extremely organized and fluent in spreadsheets

High attention to detail with zero tolerance for inventory errors

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Self-driven and able to work without being micromanaged

Able to consistently work 5–6 days/week, 40–50 hours/week

Leadership-minded with the ability to direct others and manage processes

Growth Opportunity:

As the business scales, this position will continue to grow. For the right person, this role can evolve into Inventory Manager or Operations Lead, with increased pay and responsibility. We are looking for someone who is in it for the long haul and willing to grow with the company.
