Leads design, development, and implementation activities of effective training materials and programs by:
Reviewing and maintaining knowledge of present procedures, practices, and other departmental background information relative to the assignment developing and administering new policies and practices pertaining to the area being served
Developing and maintaining communications necessary to gain knowledge of changes in policies and procedures and incorporating these in the curriculum
Developing and maintaining broad knowledge of the learning technology available to support training; Design and develop plans for courses
Design and develop training aids for course presentation and conducts training programs and assists with direct observations and reviews of student evaluations to ensure
Ability of instructors to conduct effective, easy-to-understand classroom training
Ability of instructors to explain Company policies applicable to training programs
Adherence to safety practices and procedures
Creating and managing an appropriate learning environment
Collects and analyzes feedback from supervision and students. From results received, makes recommendations to improve training
Mentors instructors through observation, providing feedback and written documentation
Observes post training performance of students and notes recommendations, performs student evaluations, and provides oral and written feedback
Assists in the administration of the training section by:
Maintaining training materials
Maintaining training attendance records
Assisting to coordinate training programs with associated departments
Maintaining knowledge of the training and tracking system to assist with student record maintenance
Submitting course, class, and registration information to allow ample time for student enrollment
Submitting required paperwork upon course completion
Communicates training and classroom activities, discussions with supervision, and outcomes of meetings attended
Complete projects by scheduled deadlines; communicates anticipated problems, suggesting alternative plans when appropriate
Assists in the work of a higher classification and performs other duties as assigned
Experience – Previous experience/specific types of work required to perform the primary job functions
Demonstrated skill and ability to perform at the instructor level

Acts as a resource for the development and implementation of training programs ensuring adherence to Company, safety, and department policies and procedures
Assists with coordinating activities related to training instructors on proper operating and care of hardware, audio and visual equipment and stays abreast of current technology
Attends training seminars and related training for additional knowledge and skills, reads professional journals to upgrade knowledge of developments in the area of training
Demonstrated effective ability to develop, implement, and evaluate training programs
Skill to evaluate for content, accuracy, and clarity the training materials, student evaluations, memos, and reports written by instructors
Verbal communication skills to convey ideas, policies, and procedures in a clear, concise and understandable manner
Commitment to customer service is demonstrated in classroom and non-classroom environments
Identifies customers’ needs and expectations and provides resolutions

Additional Information
Willingness to travel overnight when necessary
Possession of a valid Driver’s license and/or CDL, as necessary
Qualifications at the Dist Instructor Level include:
Associate Degree or higher with and additional 2-4 years of training experience in the field. In lieu of an Associate Degree a Workforce Development approved Instructor Certification will be considered, or equivalent in previous Field Experience such as Journeyman Level Line work skills: Or a minimum of a High School Diploma along with 4 years directly related experience as noted is required.
Qualifications at the Adv Dist Instructor Level include:
Associate degree or higher with 4 plus yrs of training experience is required, OR Workforce Development approved Instructor Certification OR Journeyman level overhead line work skills with training experience (classroom or on-the-job).
Demonstrated skill and ability or previous experience in developing, implementing, or evaluating training programs a plus.
Previous technical experience (T&D Skills instructors require journeyman level skill set in one or more areas within Transmission & Distribution operations).
Prior experience as an instructor (classroom or on-the-job) is desirable.the results of the interview process which considers the candidate’s skills, work history, experience level, and other relevant qualifications.
