Do not miss this wonderful opportunity for personal and professional growth!DESCRIPTION OF WORKCounty Social Services Aide 1 is an entry level position and works closely with caseworkers and other social service aides to provide services in the home to families with children after a caseworker has visited and determined which services are to be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for one-on-one assistance and communication with families to work toward positive goals and outcomes!In this role, your duties will include providing in-home assistance in all areas of family life including household budgeting; parenting education; proper hygiene, nutrition, cooking, and food shopping skills; and home maintenance. You will be expected to write a report of each appointment with consumers, participate in meetings with other staff to develop treatment plans and set goals for consumers, attend court and testify if needed, and complete clerical office duties. This includes providing childcare when necessary and assisting in the completion of applications and forms. Our team and the people we serve will rely on you to manage multiple tasks at a time, meet strict deadlines, and pay close attention to details under a constantly changing work environment.Responsibilities may also include a non-traditional schedule transporting consumers to supervised visitation and necessary appointments. Work may involve visiting and working in family homes and apartments where no elevators are present and traveling to areas that may not be accessible to public transportation. Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. This position may also routinely work evening and weekend hours, and on-call hours when required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Graduation from high school; or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience.Other Requirements:

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, or Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
