This Part-time Registered Nurse position assists and serves as backup to the Full-time Registered Nurse. In this position, you will provide acute and primary medical care to PSP Cadets/Liquor Enforcement Officer Trainees at the Academy under the supervision of the State Police Medical Officers (SPMOs) and administrative supervision of an enlisted member. The position is also responsible for maintaining the medical supplies and monitoring inventory in the medical unit and manages immunization programs required by the Pennsylvania State Police.Work Hours and Additional Information:Part-time employment, approximately 2 days per week.
Need to be flexible to cover the medical office during:
Full-time Registered Nurse's scheduled vacation days
The first week of a new cadet class
Medical/psychological processing days
Cadet training such as OC training, boxing and taser training
Other events and activities that additional medical personal would be needed
Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly salary of $33.87 (before taxes)

QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Special Requirements:
This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
This particular position also requires applicants to possess a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.
If you are within 60 days of graduating from a school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Registered Nurse license.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
