We are looking for someone who has a good eye for taking photos- getting those good angles that really make the underwriter understand the property they are insuring. Experience with taking pictures of properties would be helpful, but is not necessary- we will teach you what the underwriters are looking for.
We pay all expenses of going to your assignments- mainly this is the mileage allowance for using your car for visits- 50c per mile. You keep track of your own mileage and submit a summary once per week. Because this is a 1099 position we also add 7% to your pay as our contribution to your social security/Medicare costs. You should be familiar with working as a 1099 (Independent Contractor) if you are applying for this position.
We do make appointments for most of our visits. We will train you how to do those correctly. These are property owners who want these policies and therefore 99% of them are super cooperative. However, you have to be the type of person that can easily handle the 1% that are just plain ornery persons. You need to “de-escalate” a situation and should be confident you are that type of person.
We like to assign our representatives their work on a weekly basis- usually on Monday mornings. We assign you enough work to keep you busy the amount of hours you want to work. However, you keep track of how many hours you work each week, not us. You submit your "hours worked" and your "expenses" every week.
Your assignments will typically be in a fairly tight group- as we do have quite a bit of work in the Harrisburg, PA area. We have other Field Rep’s in nearby areas- such as Allentown, Pottstown, Binghamton and Pittsburg. One week we might have you between Harrisburg and State College and the other between Harrisburg and Reading.
This posting is designed for us to "hire and train" a new Field Rep. If you are an experienced field rep and wish to join Capo- we could offer more pay as we would save on training costs.
