DGS Bureau of Procurement is looking for the right person with the strategic procurement, project management and team leadership skills needed to manage procurement professionals on the Professional Services Team. This Team is responsible for sourcing a broad spectrum of materials and services used by all Commonwealth agencies. Materials ranging from bottled water to medical supplies to non-perishable food. Services ranging from non-English Interpretation to Stenographic Court Reporting and Transcription Services to Drug and Alcohol Testing Service to HealthCare Staffing. If you consider variety the spice of life, then the Professional Services Team is the place for you.DESCRIPTION OF WORKUnder the guidance of the Commodity Manager, the Associate Commodity Manager (ACM) will manage a team of procurement professionals. These procurement professionals areresponsible for strategically sourcing a variety of materials and services which are used by the Commonwealth agencies. The ACM will have the responsibility to establish and manage project time-lines for the various types of procurements issued by the team. The types of procurements include request for proposals, invitations for bid, invitations to qualify, sole source procurements, and more. The goal for each procurement is the successful, one-time implementation of contracts, while considering user impact as a priority, and helping our customers better manage their purchasing needs and taxpayer dollars.As of one of the team leaders, you will have the opportunity to assist with the development of policy and process, encourage chain management, lead contract negotiations, as well as have a direct impact on the development and growth of each of your team members. The Department of General Services is looking for someone who can demonstrate professionalism, communicate effectively, and be able to interact and work with others in groups. Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, reporting to the office 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Commodity Specialist or a Quality Assurance Specialist;or

Three years of experience as a Purchasing Agent 2;or

One year of experience as a Purchasing Agent 3;or

Three years of strategic procurement experience in supply chain management, and a bachelor’s degree;or

Seven years of strategic procurement experience including two years of experience in the research and evaluation of commodities and suppliers;or

An equivalent combination of experience and training including two years of experience in supply chain management.

Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.
