THE POSITION
The Department of Labor & Industry is on the lookout for a qualified candidate to take on the role of Administrative Officer 1 in Dauphin County. This position is directly accountable to the Director of the Office of UC Tax Services and involves a high degree of autonomy, as it is designed to address the administrative requirements of the Office. The individual in this role will exercise independent judgment to effectively manage daily operations and will collaborate with the Director, executive team, and staff from other bureaus as needed. Do not miss the chance to apply today!DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this role, you will be tasked with overseeing the management of records for the bureau, which includes maintaining the record retention schedule and ensuring that updates are made promptly while notifying the relevant parties. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the bureau adheres to the established record retention guidelines.You will collaborate with bureau personnel and the Bureau of Administrative Services to develop and revise both new and existing forms used within the bureau. This includes maintaining a comprehensive tracking system for the creation and distribution of forms, as well as for the historical revisions and postings of documents.As the Content Administrator, you will manage all information related to the bureau on the website and LION platform. This involves working closely with the Press Office and bureau staff to ensure that both internal and external communications are accurate and logically organized. You will also prepare content for publication and assist other UC bureaus with shared documents and information.You will be responsible for assigning inquiries from Legislative, Executive, and UCNews to appropriate staff members, setting deadlines, and monitoring the progress of these assignments. It is essential to ensure that the Unemployment Compensation Management System is updated with the outcomes and that responses are communicated to the relevant stakeholders, while also maintaining internal tracking and retention records.Your role will involve creating new procedures and processes aimed at enhancing efficiency and addressing customer issues. You will also participate in the policy development process as necessary to support these initiatives.You will conduct research and analysis on various publications, communications from the USDOL, information from other states, and news sources to gather insights related to tax programs and developments. This research will culminate in the preparation of position papers and reports that summarize your findings, and you may be called upon to present these results to executive staff and other stakeholders.You will take the lead or provide assistance on significant office projects, which may include tasks such as office relocations, renovations, acquiring furniture and equipment, and managing the distribution of office supplies.Additionally, you will be responsible for drafting sensitive and complex correspondence and documents as required, ensuring that all communications meet the necessary standards of professionalism and confidentiality.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office during the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters offic in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
