Reviews X-Ray film and marks up castings to find indications from film for repair.Creates "weld maps" showing excavation dimensions / weld sizeIssues Return Material Authorizations (RMA) to customersPerforms root-cause analysis on customer-returned material and in-house rejectionsFills out rejection reports dispositioning repair/replace, customer credit and corrective actionMaintains various lohs as outlined in the company's quality systemReviews and signs-off on various production documentsResponsible for maintaining weld-wire control and learning the company's welding programParticipate in a team-based process improvement systemDimensional evaluation of pattern and castings relative to customer drawingsParticipate as a member of a team in customer auditsManage and administer an employee training scheduleTrain under senior employee(s) on the VIR/VPAR submittal process.Learns the company's Quality Manual and work-instructionsRequired Skills/ Abilities:Ability to split time between office work and work to be performed out on the production floorAbility to lift 50 pounds at a minimumability to use various computer program including Microsoft Office programs, Word, Outlook.EtcEnjoys working in a production and quality-driven heavy manufacturing environmentKnowledge of foundry processes: molding, core making, melting, grinding EtcAny experience working for a supplier to the U.S. Navy, Newport News, or Electric Boat is a plus.Foundry experience preferred but not required
