Job DescriptionWe are currently hiring aQuality Control Technician,MicroinBreinigsville, PA

The Microbiological Lab Quality Technician will ensure the integrity of each batch of product and consistent quality of production by enforcing good manufacturing practice (GMP) systems; conducting microbiological analysis, validating processes and providing documentation. This position will fill an essential role in monitoring quality programs through regular process checks as well as short and long term projects. Assist in the decision-making process as it related to production and release of product.

What You'll Brew:

Collection and Analysis

Collect and prepare samples in order conduct routine and non-standard microbiological

testing and analysis of product at various stages along the production process, including

finished product, to validate the integrity and quality standards/specifications and ensure

that no bad beer leaves the brewery. Including but not limited to:

Sample collection with various aseptic techniques

Sample prep and processing (plating).

Uses direct micro examination and ancillary tests to determine nature of organisms

present.

Evaluates various micro tests and responds to OOS conditions in a timely manner.

Prepares microbiological media including distribution and sterilization

Using equipment and SOP validation processes, determines whether or not product meets

specification to release or hold. Notify Manager regarding process deviations and/or when

production is (or will be) outside of control parameters

Participation in Sensory Analysis including: triangle testing and tasting samples from each

new product introduced to the line

Accurately conduct and document daily and monthly audits and processes with regard to

GMP's and HACCP plan

Enforce and follow all brewery and food safety standards

Maintains proper lab and lab ware sanitation and sterilization

Shut down processes that do not comply with BBC GMP's and notify proper parties

Ensure quality standards are met

Communicate with various team members about issues following and enforcing all

relevant Safety and Quality procedures

Maintains level of professional competency through professional development (academic

literature, seminars, supplier documentationPhysical Requirements

All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s)Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit testAbility to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedlyRegular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfacesResponsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the dayResponsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights or on elevated platformsAbility to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat)Established dexterity so you can handle materials, operate equipment and interface with computer systems with precisionSome roles (e.g., forklift operator) may be required to sit for a prolonged period of time and have strong peripheral vision and depth perceptiWhat Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience

5+ years work experience in similar role/company

3+ years general work experience in production facility or industrial setting

Must be proficient with computers and automated equipment to input and interpret data as

required

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel

Proven mechanical aptitude, demonstrated by work, avocation or vocation

Demonstrated knowledge of GMP through work experience

Knowledge of basic laboratory and production safety prac ices and procedur

Level 9

In accordance with pay transparency lawsthe pay rate for this role if hired is $22.40 - $30.12 per hour.
