We are working with a client in the medical field seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join their team on a temporary basis. The temporary period is estimated to last 3 months with potential for extension if business needs allow for it, and this is a hybrid work environment working on site 2 days a week. Tax experience is not required for this role. Strong customer service experience especially making outbound calls and proficiency in Excel are essential. This role will be responsible for contacting customers to retrieve missing tax exemption forms and then updating their Excel and SAP database with this information. Responsibilities:

Conduct courteous and professional phone calls with customers to address inquiries regarding sales tax exemptions.

Clearly explain sales tax exemption requirements and procedures to customers, ensuring they understand the process.

Secure valid and up-to-date sales tax exemption certificates from customers through effective communication.

Accurately enter exemption certificate information into our tax system, ensuring data integrity.

Identify transactions where sales tax was charged in error and take appropriate actions to rectify the situation.

Process tax credits to correct customer accounts efficiently and accurately.

Maintain detailed records of all customer interactions and tax credit activities for auditing purposes.

Requirements:

Associate Degree or equivalent customer service experience.

Previous experience in customer service or a related field.

Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately.

Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and basic spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel).

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.

Additional Information:

This position offers a hybrid work model, with 2 days per week in the office and flexible 8-hour workdays. The initial duration of this role is 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
