Provides pastoral care to patients, families, hospital staff in individual, family, and/or group contexts.

Provides follow-up to insure continuity of patient care, as assigned by the Network Director and Coordinator of Pastoral Care.

Demonstrates competency in the spiritual assessment, range of treatment, knowledge and growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.

Accesses appropriate information from the patient’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) as part of the spiritual assessment. Adds notes to the Pastoral Care flowsheet information and clear and consistent progress notes to the EMR.

Maintains daily statistics and submits a patient care log to the Coordinator of Pastoral Care at the end of shift.

Maintains a working knowledge of the organ donation process and ethical medical decision making, inclusive of the Self Determination Act and Pennsylvania Act 169.

Attends mandatory Associate Chaplain meetings. Meets with the Network Director at prescribed intervals to offer and receive feedback. Completes annual evaluation in established time period.

Completes yearly compliance training and mandatory learnings within prescribed time frames.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting up to seven hours a day; 2 hours at a time, with times of standing or walking. Uses hands and fingers frequently. Occasionally carries up to 10 pounds. Occasionally stoops, bends, squats, kneels, or reaches above shoulder level. Hearing in normal conversation. Seeing, as it relates to general vision.EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: At least one certified unit of Clinical Pastoral Education from an ACPE, Inc. Accredited Center in an acute hospital setting with Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma experience required.Please complete your application using your full legal name and current home address.
