In collaboration with management, Human Resources and Legal, creates and sustains positive employee relations programs and practices in support of the SLUHN culture.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that are aligned with the organization and HR strategies and goals
Provides strategic consultation and partnership in a variety of HR functional areas such as Workforce Planning, Recruitment, Compensation, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Training & Development, etc.
Partners closely with Associate General Counsel and AVP – Employee Relations and Entity Human Resources on all Employee Relations matters
Regularly engages and meets with leaders to provide feedback, coaching, disciplinary actions, along with investigation-related conversations
Reviews and approves standard letters prepared by campus HR teams. Partners with the Senior Director and legal team to create and share templates and matrices to confirm consistency in HR practices
Aligns, evolves, and recommends new approaches to policies and procedures providing for continuous improvements in organization efficiency and HR service delivery
Collaborates with Network HR leaders and Network/Entity senior leaders to achieve HR and entity-specific goals and objectives
Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
Manage staff of HR professionals and administrative staff
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting for up to six hours per day, one hour at a time. Standing for up to five hours per day, one hour at a time. Walking up to three hours per day, thirty minutes at a time. Fingering and handling frequently. Twisting and turning of hands occasionally. Lifting and carrying up to ten pounds, occasionally. Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Occasionally stoops, bends, squats, kneels, and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general, near and visual monotony.EDUCATION:B.A./B.S. in appropriate Human Resources, Business or Psychology or related field required. HR Certification preferred.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a broad range of Human Resource functions required. Previous leadership experience preferred. Must have demonstrated skills in understanding and supporting the team concept, active listening, problem solving and maintaining confidentiality. Past experience with an HRIS System preferred.
