Maintenance Mechanic

JOB DESCRIPTION: This job involves maintaining buildings and various equipment on our campus.

STARTING HOURLY PAY: $30.00/hr - $33.00/hr DOE

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

- Regular preventive maintenance and minor repair of about 50 HVAC units

- Operate a variety of equipment such as excavator, loader, chainsaw, and forklift

- Maintenance and minor repair of various tractors, gators, chippers, sprayers, street sweeper, bark blower, etc.

- Installation and repair of irrigation systems

- Painting, repairing drywall, and use of various tools

- Skill based repair, maintenance, and build projects

- Mounting cameras, lights, cubicle accessories, monitors, blinds, etc.

- Managing list of water filters and performing regular replacements

- Changing batteries in alarm systems, card access systems, and fire alarm systems

- Pouring or repairing concrete

Required:

- High School Diploma or GED

- Ability to perform assigned tasks independently by following oral and written instructions

- Problem solving

- Verbal and listening communication skills

- Time management

- Ability to work independently or in a group

- Valid Oregon State driver's license

Helpful Skilled Work Experience (not necessarily required):

- HVAC

- Auto Mechanic

- Welding

- Irrigation system use and maintenance

- Metal fabrication

- Machining

- Woodworking

- Floor installation

- Framing

- Electrical

- Plumbing

Working Conditions:

- Work will generally be performed in an office environment, a shop, and/or outdoors

- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stand/walk for long periods of time

- Engage in repetitive work motions such as gripping, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling

- Frequent use of hands and arms and may require reaching above shoulders and head and climbing ladders

- Frequently required to lift equipment and/or materials up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 60 lbs

We generally don't hire someone who lives far outside of Salem because it's beneficial for us to have employees who live near the office.
