The Eyrie Vineyards, located in the town of McMinnville, is seeking an organized, tech-savvy person to assist our winemaker for the 2024 harvest.
The wine harvest is about managing information – lots of it. This position helps gather and organize all the numbers needed to take care of each lot. We use Microsoft Excel for recording everything, so being Excel savvy is a key requirement for the job. And the numbers have to be recorded correctly, so attention-to-detail is crucial.
It’s a physically active role – applicants must be able to safely use ladders, carry moderate weights, and do some clambering around.
The gig runs for 5 to 6 weeks, starting with a few hours a day in mid-September, ramping to full time, and tapering back down towards the mid-October. Nature doesn’t take weekends off, so during this time we are on, seven days a week.
Harvest is hard work but it’s also really fun to see a year’s work come together, and it’s a fantastic learning opportunity. Past folks in this position have continued their careers in wine and even started their own labels.
A multilingual person would be a great fit, since most of the other team members here speak both Spanish and English.
We are a small, close-knit, friendly, hard-working group, and we welcome all kinds of people.
The pay is good, the people are good, and the learning opportunity is one of a kind. We hope you will contact us to see if you would be a good fit.
