Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, and company health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Monitor, oversee, and ensure compliance for the Shop/Office/Project departments.
- Plan, implement, administer, and coordinate staff safety training programs.
- Be proactive in creating a stronger safety culture by undertaking initiatives to improve safety.
- Conducting inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing safety procedures and regulations to minimize the risk of accidents
- Developing and updating emergency response plans
- Investigating accidents and illnesses, and developing measures to prevent them from happening again
- Promoting safe and healthy work performance through recognition systems
- Maintaining safety records, including accident reports, training logs, and Activity Hazard Reports/ Job Safety Analysis.
- Ensure WISHA and OSHA safety regulation compliance as it pertains maintenance operations.
- Reporting injuries to OSHA and managing claims.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities.
- Must be detail-oriented, people-oriented, and stable.
- Good understanding of risk assessment and data analysis
- Ability to prioritize tasks, especially when dealing with an incident or accident
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, or presentation software.
- Ability to travel regularly to project locations.
- BA/BS degree in safety, construction, or equivalent combination of experience.
- Willingness to participate in trade organizations and groups to support our industry.
- Must have completed a 30-hour OSHA construction safety course or equivalent within the last 5 years
- Must have completed 24 hours of documented formal classroom or online SOH-related training within the past five years and must maintain competency by taking 24 hours every three-year period for the duration of the position.
- Minimum 5 years of cumulative safety experience, within the last ten years, managing or implementing a SOH program on projects associated with MATOC.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.
- Working knowledge of scheduling, daily reports, safety meetings, and inspections.
- Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background check.
