Parts Purchasing Coordinator - Troutdale

Walsh Trucking Co. is a 65+ year old family owned company and the leader in the wood residual and waste product transport for the Pacific Northwest. We are seeking a Parts Purchasing Coordinator to join our Trailer Shop in Troutdale, Oregon. We have a day shift position available. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

SUMMARY: Provides for the accounting and tracking of parts and materials by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reads production schedule, work order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to mechanics.

Records parts or items distributed by entering data on work order.

Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.

Uses computer to enter parts information into Dossier system.

Verifies parts pricing with vendors.

Generates part orders and price estimates.

Manages intake, storage, and distribution of used parts.

Prepares documents for parts warranty and submits to management; Enters warranty data.

Communicates with mechanics about parts needed, and provides them with scheduled and unscheduled parts.

Receives parts invoices; Forwards parts invoices to accounts payable for payment.

Collects oil samples from trucks; Processes and sends to lab.

Manages inventory of used parts; disassembles and organizes used parts.

OTHER DUTIES:

Picks up parts from vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Computer Skills – Knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently; Ability to enter data into computer software.

Communication – Must be able to communicate well, written and verbally, with parts department, mechanics, and vendors.

Mathematical Skills - Knowledge of and ability to use basic math, such as addition, subtraction and division, as well as percentages; Ability to do simple measuring.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 2-5 years’ experience with Class 8 truck parts or equivalent experience is required

Certifications: Current and valid driver’s license is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This job involves being indoor and outdoor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Roughly 75% of time will be spent sitting. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to maintain regular attendance with overtime as required. May occasionally be required to work overtime on short notice.

Benefits and compensation:

Compensation is hourly, $23-$25 per hour, D.O.E
