Funeral Director Cremationist Assistant Summary
A Funeral Assistant is responsible for providing support to funeral home staff during funeral services, visitations, cremations, and daily tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to remain composed in stressful situations in a fast-paced environment, and have a professional and empathetic demeanor, while doing these tasks in a timely manner. Must be able to lift over 150 lbs.
Job includes:
Removals from place of passing to funeral home
Basic chores/cleaning duties
Maintaining the facility
Running errands in company vehicle
Assisting with cremations
Assisting with funerals and preparation of bodies
Basic administrative tasks
Answering phones
Ushering and assisting at chapel, church services and cemeteries
Adheres to all company and regulatory requirements
And other funeral / cremation related duties
Qualifications:
Be able to lift 150 + plus pounds
Must have a clean driving record
Quick learner in a fast-paced environment with minimal errors (working at a funeral home there is no room for mistakes, understandably.)
Must live within 20 minutes of the Beaverton/Aloha area
Must be able to maintain a clean professional look and demeanor
Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings
