Oregon, Portland
Aplica ya

Powell's Books, the nation's top independent bookseller, is looking to fill several full-time temporary Retail Distribution Center (Warehouse) Level I or II positions at our NW Portland warehouse.

Positions within the Retail Distribution Center provide a necessary service that ensures our store locations receive the products they need to operate effectively. They offer a rare opportunity to work with the entire life cycle of a book and other Powell’s merchandise from dock to a customer’s hand. Positions will be working with the RDC teams, which include Fulfillment, Online Buyback, New Books receiving & returns, Gifts receiving, and Replenishment, which works heavily with remainders and used books. These roles also entail assisting with other duties within the Industrial Warehouse as needed. It is a dynamic and multifaceted role that involves many essential aspects of bookselling and foundational Powell’s process knowledge.

The Powell’s warehouse is not your typical warehouse environment. Here are some ways in which our warehouse is different:

There are no late-night or overnight shifts, and we provide reliable breaks and lunch breaks.

We offer reliable and consistent schedules.

The safety of our employees is a top priority at Powell’s.

We have safe bike storage and showers on site if you prefer to bike to work. There is some vehicle parking available around the warehouse area that is free.

We’re committed to fostering a culture and environment of inclusion, empowerment, and respect – a place where everyone can show up fully as themselves and do their best work every day.

Powell’s provides a number of benefits to employees, including:

-Employee discount that is also available to your significant other, children, parents, and siblings

-Book borrowing privileges

Shifts will be 9am – 5pm. Schedules will either be Monday - Friday or Sunday - Thursday.

Please include a cover letter with a brief description of relevant skills and experience, and the reason why you're interested in this position.
