Gillaspy Rhode Faddis & Benn LLC is looking for a Paralegal in our Portland, Oregon office. Job Type: Full Time in-office work schedule Monday-Friday. A hybrid schedule may be considered after 90-day probationary period.
Pay: $65,000 to $90,000 annually (DOE), plus benefits.
Billable Hours: Paralegals have a billable hour target of 120/hours a month.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
1. Must have 3+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation. Construction defect and/or insurance defense experience preferred.
2. Must be a team player who has excellent planning and organization skills, attention to detail, initiative, and good judgment;
3. Must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently manage discovery, review and summarize extensive volumes of litigation documents (including medical records), and prepare exhibits for depositions and trial as needed;
4. Must possess knowledge of local and state court rules as well as HIPAA guidelines in Oregon in order to draft, review and summarize a high volume of discovery documents; (familiarity with Washington rules as well is a plus);
5. Must have excellent grammar and proven written communication skills, including drafting legal correspondence;
6. Must have strong verbal communication skills, including communicating directly with clients, attorneys, experts, and people of the court;
7. Must be able to prepare detailed timelines, medical chronologies and billing summaries for personal injury cases as well as timelines, indexing and document review for various stages of construction defect cases including the drafting of discovery, subpoenas, etc.;
8. Must be able to prepare medical authorizations, stipulations, subpoenas, etc. for record retrieval and review;
9. Must have experience with timekeeping and a billable hour requirement, including billing guidelines for insurance defense;
10. Must have a client service mentality with a focused value in communication and the ability to demonstrate teamwork/cooperation with others; and
11. Must have advanced proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, and Excel.
Benefits & Compensation:
Compensation range is between $65,000 and $90,000 annually and is dependent on experience.
