Job Summary:
The Water Mitigation Technician is responsible for responding to water damage emergencies, performing mitigation services, and ensuring that properties are restored to their pre-damage condition. The technician will utilize specialized equipment, techniques, and processes to remove water, dry affected areas, and prevent further damage.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to emergency calls for water damage mitigation.
Assess the extent of water damage and develop a plan for restoration.
Operate and maintain water extraction equipment, dehumidifiers, and air movers.
Perform water extraction, drying, and dehumidification tasks effectively and safely.
Monitor and document the drying process, ensuring moisture levels are within acceptable ranges.
Communicate with clients about the mitigation process and provide updates on progress.
Collaborate with team members and other professionals involved in the restoration process.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and materials applied.
Participate in training and continuing education to stay updated on best practices and technologies in water mitigation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., IICRC Water Damage Restoration) are preferred, but not required.
Previous experience in water damage restoration or related field is a plus, not required.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds alone and 100 pounds with assistance.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including high humidity and wet areas.
Compensation:
$19.00 to $27.00 HRLY
