Seasonal Event Setup and Breakdown Assistant

Historic Willamette Markets is seeking a reliable and physically capable person to assist with our Wednesdays in Willamette Summer Street Market set-up and breakdown every Wednesday from May 8th to September 4th. This seasonal position requires the transportation, setup, and takedown of event equipment and signage at designated locations in the Willamette Business District of West Linn. This position is approximately 6-7 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Transport event equipment, including signicades, pop-up tents, tables, chairs, and merchandise bins, to/from our utility trailer in Willamette to Willamette Falls Drive.

Day of Timing/Hours:

Before Noon (timing is flexible):

Set up signicades in designated locations around Willamette before the market. (approximately 1.5 hours)

12:00 - 3:00 PM:

Assist with transporting & setting up pop-up tents, tables, and chairs at the event site (these are only for event management, not the vendors)

Ensure all equipment is arranged correctly and secured for the duration of the event.

Provide assistance before the event as needed, including minor setup adjustments, such as filling water weights and attaching them to the tents.

8:00 PM:

At the end of the event, responsibilities include dismantling tents, tables, and chairs and returning all equipment to the trailer.

Collect all signicades from their designated locations and return them to the trailer.

Communicate any issues or concerns to the Market Manager promptly.

Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.

Availability every Wednesday from May 8th to September 4th. If a scheduled vacation occurs, help to find a replacement.

Physical stamina and endurance to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Reliable and punctual with a commitment to fulfilling assigned tasks.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
