Join the Carlton Farms team today! The Maintenance Manager will report to the Operations Manager. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Production Manager & Warehouse Supervisor to ensure all equipment is running properly and will oversee all maintenance personnel and operations. The role will have responsibility for maintaining both preventative maintenance and operational maintenance & repair of both plant and warehouse equipment, including the facility.

Job Duties
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy to maximize equipment uptime and minimize downtime.
- Create and manage a preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment is properly maintained and repairs are proactively addressed.
- Coordinate with operations teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to production schedules.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all production equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance indicators, analyze data, and recommend process improvements to enhance reliability and reduce costs.
- Prepare and monitor the department budget, direct the purchasing of spare parts & supplies and determine minimum inventory levels, initiate work orders, and reviews general plant equipment repairs.
- Participate in capital projects by assisting with project development, specifying controls and equipment, directing installation, and monitoring start-up, troubleshooting, and maintenance training for new systems.
- Manage the scheduling of maintenance personnel & labor costs, including attendance and performance reviews.
- Work with company leadership team regarding equipment modifications & facilities improvements that will improve plant performance, product quality & reduce costs.
- Ensure staff follows & supports all GMPs, regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety training programs for maintenance personnel.
Requirements/Skills
- 5 or more years of proven work experience, preferably in a food processing facility.
- Must have basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- HAACP trained in the 1st 90 days.
- Knowledge of USDA regulations and best practices for compliance preferred.
- Strong communication skills and strong ability to lead and manage employees in a rapid-paced production environment; strong communication skills to “report up” to keep senior management well-informed of issues as they arise and are resolved.

- Working knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning and resource allocation).
- Knowledge of and compliance with OSHA standards.
