Landscape Crew Lead

Olson Environmental, an entity of MacKay Sposito, is seeking a Landscape Crew Lead to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outside and alongside a team while putting in a full day's work. This is a labor intensive role that will be instrumental in providing support in the management of landscaping site maintenance.

Some of the equipment you will be using includes industrial mowers, brush cutters, hedger, and occasionally herbicide applicator equipment. Job sites may include uneven ground and steep slopes. You will be frequently bending and squatting during the day and carry loads of 30-40 pounds, up to the occasional 90 pounds. Work schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:30pm. As a Crew Lead, it is expected that the employee is responsible for their assigned project and crew. This position reports to the Field Service Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Perform general landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.

Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees.

Assist in the installation of irrigation systems.

Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools.

Perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment.

Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.

Ensure a clean and safe work environment.

Maintaining a safe work environment for the crew.

Responsibility to enforce safety with the crew.

Ensure completion of the project in a timely manner within the allotted time.

Before and after pictures to be taken before leaving the site – for new sites and odd jobs.

Ensure the crew is working when on the job site.

Responsible for turning in receipts and invoices to accounting, marked up accordingly.

Maintain daily spray logs during mitigation season.

General preparedness includes proper attire, plenty of fluids, lunch, etc.

Ontime and ready to start the day at the appropriate time

Leaving the yard no later than 30 min from the start of the day

Ensure timecards from the crew are entered daily

Confirm truck is cleaned out at the end of each day

Communicate with Field Service Supervisor on any necessary purchases

Manage equipment to ensure being properly used and won’t get broken

Email Field Service Supervisor any equipment issues

Knowledge of safety supplies’ location and restocking as needed

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid Driver's License.

Experience with the safe operation of power tools such as lawn mowers, brush cutters, hedgers etc.

Work both independently and as a member of a team.

Ability to work long hours and overtime.

Previous experience in landscaping or related field preferred.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.

The wage range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr depending on experience.
