The City of Camas has a long tradition of providing community events for our residents and we need an experienced events coordinator to keep the good times rolling! We’re seeking to fill a Parks and Recreation Coordinator position which will plan, develop, organize and implement varied special events, including traditional favorites like Hometown Holidays, Egg Scramble, and Concerts/Movies in the Park, as well as seek new opportunities to diversify our events portfolio. This will also include recruiting and training volunteers to assist with these events. Additionally, the position will work with other department coordinators to perform a variety of administrative support functions and will also support the Director as liaison to the Parks and Recreation Commission, including attending monthly meetings, running the streaming meeting service, preparing agendas, taking minutes, etc. Due to the varied nature of the position, the successful candidate will be required to occasionally work non-traditional hours to support special events and Commission meetings, including evenings and weekends. This position is eligible for a full benefits package and is represented by the CPEA bargaining unit.

Minimum Qualifications:

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in business administration, public administration, recreation administration or a related field

Three years of experience in the coordination or implementation of recreational programs, special events or administrative support experience, preferably with recreation facilities operation experience

Possession of a valid driver’s license

Possession of a valid First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
