We offer Coava Coffee Roasters Espresso and Drip, house-baked pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos, as well as homemade cold brew and various cold drinks. Antiques fill a cozy house-like environment where we serve a diverse clientele. Located across from the Goose Hollow Max station and within walking distance of downtown, PSU, and Northwest Portland, we are generally a simple commute from most places in town. On-site parking - or a parking pass - will be provided to those needing to use a car.
We are seeking a new staff member for part-time work, with set hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Working alongside your co-workers in a cooperative environment, and at other times working solo, you will take part in all aspects of operating a coffee shop: you will prepare craft espresso drinks, prepare and cook breakfast items, provide friendly and efficient customer service, operate a point of sale system, stock food and drink items, and clean house all in the course of a day.
The preferred candidate has relatively recent experience in preparing espresso drinks, food prep, stocking and organization, and use of a point-of-sale system; additionally, the preferred candidate will be adept at multitasking and enjoy interacting with other people (co-workers and customers). The days being offered as regular shifts are very busy at the Hof. We need someone who enjoys and is able to move at a fast pace.
Our baristas are expected to fulfill the job description in a semi-autonomous environment with composure, maturity, and positivity. The owners are the managers and oversee a crew that runs the coffee shop as well as Goose Hollow Inn (tavern) and a productive prep kitchen. We are looking for people who enjoy independence and yet working together to contribute to our Goose Hollow community.

Starting wage: 16.50/hr (plus tips, once trained). Benefits include shift meals and savings at both businesses when off-shift. Staff members who work 26 hours/week are offered health care. Employee-contribution IRA available through the Oregon Savings Plan.
