Math and Middle School Homework Support Tutor (Grades 5-11) Wanted to Join Our Team of Awesome Educators at our location in NE Portland.
$32 per hour to start // 16 hours a week Mon -Thur 3-7pm
Are you a talented educator looking for an amazing working environment? Minds in Motion Tutoring is looking to hire one tutor to join our team of highly experienced educators. We are a small private tutoring company that offers tutoring services at our Portland location to K-11th grade students in reading, writing, math and homework help. We are looking for a candidate that has the skills and talents listed below.
Requirements.
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
Experience teaching math and providing homework support to students in grades 5-11.
This position requires that you are comfortable and proficient in providing math instruction from basic skills through Algebra ½, Algebra ¾, and Geometry.
This type of intensive academic support incorporates ongoing relationship building skills that requires patience with young humans.
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to work with neurodivergent people are essential.
Must be willing to make a 12-month commitment.
We are looking for a person who has an excellent way with students and is committed to helping students work to their full potential. We provide ongoing training to help you adjust to our curriculum and further your teaching skills. We are committed to finding the right person to join our team. The person who held this position previously was with us for 7 years. We provide an ideal teaching environment and are eager to add more talented educators to our organization.
This is a 16 hour per week position Monday-Thursday from 3pm to 7pm. Pay starts at $32 per hour. This position is ideal for someone who wants to work part time, with set hours, for multiple school years. We are open year-round with seasonal closures.
Training starts Sept 8th. This job is renewed annually.
