Purchasing Supervisor

As the Purchasing Department Supervisor, you will lead a team of buyers to support a job shop business and help to implement procurement strategies. We are looking for someone with great communication and leadership skills who can also deliver on our long-term materials lead time and cost goals.

Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of procurement professionals who collaborate closely with sales and production teams.

Develop, improve and implement company purchasing processes and policies.

Track and report on daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs.

Drive continuous improvement and create documentation for standard operating procedures.

Work with suppliers to improve on-time delivery of materials according to shop production schedules.

Train the purchasing team in all processes and standards.

Coordinate with the inventory group to maintain accurate stock levels and avoid shortages.

Work closely with accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

B.A/B.S Degree or equivalent experience in Business or Materials Supply Chain & Logistics preferred.

3-5 years of purchasing experience preferably within heavy equipment manufacturing or heavy equipment repairs environment.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively supervise a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Record of minimizing lead times and optimizing workflow.

Experience with ERP systems

Knowledge of LEAN tools and techniques

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
