To learn more go to www.sahpendleton.orgResponsibilitiesJob Summary:This position is responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician, with emphasis in specialty areas (i.e., Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric and Critical Care), monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, patient assessment, understanding ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring, understanding blood work results, monitoring, teaching, and training.Essential Functions:

Competent delivery of all Respiratory Care procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual.

Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all Respiratory Care procedures per department policy and procedures.

Verify Respiratory Care physicians orders. Initial, date, and time order after verification.

Receive and give accurate and complete reports. Update and complete patient profile card to reflect patient's current clinical status. Be prepared and ready to receive/give a report at the specified report times.

Attend and participate in department in-services, meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings.

Keep Supervisor apprised of changes in workload and patient acuity.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Graduate from a two (2) year AMA approved School for Respiratory Care; passing score on the NBRC entry level examination

Required Licensure and Certifications:

Current Oregon State Respiratory Care license

Current AHA BLS certification

Current AHA ACLS, PALS, NRP within three (3) months of hire

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Skills to work independently are essential.

Ability to speak and write proficiently in English is essential.

Ability to apply technical/professional knowledge as appropriate.

High degree of accuracy is required.

Analytic and clerical abilities are necessary to effectively provide patient care and safety.

A comprehensive knowledge of the therapeutic and diagnostic procedures is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Neonate experience
