Black Bar Lodge is a remote, off-grid lodge tucked deep in the Wild and Scenic section of Oregon’s Rogue River. Accessible only by raft or hiking trail, the lodge hosts overnight guests from May through October, offering rustic comfort, hearty meals, and genuine hospitality in a spectacular backcountry setting. Our small seasonal crew lives and works on-site during scheduled shifts, creating unforgettable experiences for rafting and fishing guests.

Position Overview:
We’re hiring a Seasonal Housekeeping & Server to join our team through October 31st. This is a split-role position combining daily housekeeping duties with food service support for breakfast and dinner. If you’re friendly, adaptable, and enjoy working as part of a hardworking, family-oriented crew in a one-of-a-kind setting, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Housekeeping (Daytime):
Clean and reset guest cabins each day
Wash and fold lodge laundry
Maintain clean and welcoming common areas and guest bathrooms
Assist with general lodge upkeep as needed
Meal Service (Morning & Evening):
Help set up, serve, and clean up breakfast and dinner
Support kitchen staff with light prep, dishwashing, and cleanup
Create a friendly, attentive dining atmosphere for guests
Assist with guest check-in and general hospitality
Position Details:
Staff housing provided in shared bunkhouse accommodations during your shift period
All meals provided during your shift
Transportation to and from the lodge provided at the start and end of your shift
Season ends October 31st
What We’re Looking For:
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Comfortable lifting 40+ lbs and working on your feet on uneven ground
Willingness to pitch in wherever needed
Prior housekeeping or food service experience is a bonus—but not required
Must be comfortable living in a remote setting with a small team
Respectful, cooperative mindset suited to a family-style work culture
