Job Title: Sandblast OperatorJob DescriptionAs a Sandblast Operator, you will be responsible for removing carbon wicks and excess silicon from products using manual sandblasting equipment. Your role involves loading products and operating sandblasting machines, which may include attaching products to fixtures. You will manage the operation of several automated sandblasting machines simultaneously, inspect the surface finish of products, and prepare surfaces to sandblast serial numbers.Responsibilities
Remove carbon wicks and excess silicon from products with manual sandblasting equipment.
Load products and operate sandblasting machines, potentially attaching products to fixtures.
Manage the operation of several automated sandblasting machines simultaneously.
Visually inspect the surface finish of products to determine the completion of the sandblasting process.
Prepare surfaces to sandblast serial numbers using manual sandblast machines.
Set up and operate both manual and automatic equipment.
Essential Skills
Understanding of basic shop math and safety processes.
Familiarity with measuring instruments, abrasive tooling, materials, drawings, machine functions, and controls.
Experience with SiC and silica sand blasting machines, manual and automatic blast cabinets, electric and air-powered hand grinders, Dremels, various sanding tools, and measuring instruments.
Ability to follow processes correctly without returning products for defects or breakage.
Capability to measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with sanding, powder coating, grinding, hand tools, polishing, deburring, bead blasting, machine operating, and production line.
