We are looking for two people to join our farmers market team for the 2024 season!
Position 1 - Eugene Marketeer: 8-10 hrs. / week, Saturdays, at the Lane County Farmers Market in downtown Eugene . This is a fun and lively market that runs February - December.
Position 2- Marketeer Fill -in: 8-12 hrs. / week depending on the location of the market. This is an on call / fill in position 1-2 days a month on average. You would be trained to work all 3 of our markets in Eugene, Corvallis and Portland and cover for the market staff during planned time off or call outs.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive in person at the farm the morning of market and drive the van. Unload products and set up the booth in an efficient and aesthetically pleasing way. Make sales, restock products. Clean and load up at the end of day and return the van to the farm.
- Provide excellent customer service skills, assisting customers in making informed purchasing decisions by providing product knowledge and demonstrations
- Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain a clean and organized booth, ensuring products are properly displayed and handled.
- Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends to effectively communicate with customers
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid drivers license and ability to lift 40lbs
- Previous experience in retail sales, preferably in food and farming
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain a tidy booth space
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering a positive shopping experience
