We are a fast-paced boutique law firm in Eugene looking for the right candidate to support our busy office. Our firm prioritizes ensuring clients receive an exceptional legal experience built on our personal and friendly approach. We are looking to hire a reliable and proactive legal assistant to work with our estate planning team. Applicant will be main point of contact for clients, and provide direct attorney support. Applicant will also provide back-up phone support for front desk, when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:‎

Case Management of estate planning matters, and facilitating progress from beginning to end, track tasks for each client matter and maintaining client files.

Provide back-up phone support for front desk

Client intake – be the initial contact for new estate planning clients, conducting initial client interview, creating the new client file, and scheduling attorney appointments.

Communicate with current and potential clients in a respectful and professional manner.

Provide support to assigned attorneys including acting as a primary point of contact for clients and managing correspondence with clients.

Prepare, revise and format legal documents and correspondence using various software platforms and according to instructions; proofread documents/correspondence for content, spelling, grammar, language usage and punctuation and put into final form.

Print documents and prepare final materials for client signing appointments.

Notary Services – provide notary services and support to clients in the office.

The successful candidate will have the following skill set, qualities, education, and experience:

Requirements:

At least 1 year of related office experience

Familiar with Word and Outlook

Ability to learn new software

Strong skills in communication and client relations

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment when necessary

Self-starting and proactive attitude

Professional, positive appearance and attitude

Detail oriented and organized

Reliable and punctual

Willingness to learn and operate effectively as part of a small team.

Our firm focuses on estate planning and administration, probate, and business law. Related experience is not required for the motivated applicant willing to learn. We are open to part-time and full-time candidates (please indicate your preference in your cover letter). The minimum part-time hours would be 20 hours per week. Compensation $18-$22/hr. depending on skill level and experience. Benefits for qualifying candidates include: health insurance, PTO, and IRA with up to 3% match.
