Viking Brewing's Southtowne restaurant is hiring an experienced cook as we prepare for the U of O to go back in session. The ideal candidate is versatile, and able to prep as well as work the line. The majority of our kitchen staff is crossed trained, though typically gravitate towards more prep shifts or more line shifts. Must be competent with knife work. The position is part time, starting around 15-20 hours per week. We have a couple crew members whose schedules are changing with the school year and currently have some flexibility as to what our new hire's schedule will look like.

The Southtowne Pub is the in-town sister location to Viking Brewing Company, a locally owned brewery in West Eugene that specializes in braggot, a honey ale once made by the Vikings by pouring mead and beer together. Viking has modernized the approach with a beer-forward version that includes adding honey before fermentation. The Pub's food menu is Scandinavian-inspired, to compliment our Norse-inspired draft list, and features recipes inspired from all over the world, utilizing the Scandinavian food philosophy of harmonizing preserved with fresh. The cocktail program centers around aquavit, the caraway-based spirit of Scandinavia, and the bar has the most extensive selection of aquavit in town.
Must be able to multitask, communicate effectively with coworkers, maintain a clean and organized environment, and have reliable transportation. We are looking for someone who values working as a team, and is serious about the restaurant and hospitality industry. Our crew takes pride in what we do, and we only want to bring folks on who will add to the standard.
