Do you crave new information and enjoy the experience of continuous improvement? GloryBee is seeking a "new bee" to join our fun and tight-knit Quality Assurance team. As a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in our food safety culture. By reviewing documentation, analyzing data, taste-testing ingredients, and reporting on findings, you'll help GloryBee meet various goals to improve customer experience and loyalty, ensure that our high-quality products meet required specifications, and reduce unnecessary costs or wasted efforts. Your effective communication skills will also help you to respond to defects, articulate facts, and collaborate with internal teams. This role is based out of our Production Facility located at 1680 Irving Road in Eugene, Oregon and the typical work week for this full-time hourly position, is Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, though some schedule flexibility is available. Typical job duties include:

Performs aseptic sampling of products and facilitates appropriate testing based on outlined specifications and priorities

Performs organoleptic testing on products for flavor, odor, and other physical characteristics

Reviews documentation to ensure products meet the expectations of the company and customers; creates Certificates of Analysis (COA) based on tests, vendor information and customer needs

Ensures product is released from hold within the expected lead-time established

Collaborates with Production to evaluate product quality levels, emergent product quality needs, and internal Corrective-Preventive Action Request (CPARs) for non-conformances

Partners with Purchasing on product requirements, supplier pre-shipment testing, product qualifications, and product comparisons, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests for non-conformances

Assists with customer complaints to help identify there as on for a non-conformance and determines if corrective actions are sufficient

Provides guidance and support as needed on receiving incoming products

Performs production line quality checks as required

Prepare samples for retention and for clients, prospects and suppliers

What We Are Looking For:

1-2 years of experience working in a quality assurance or related field, or a bachelor's degree in food

science or related field

High school diploma, plus 2 years post high school education, preferably in food science.

Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Food Science and/or Laboratory/Research and development background, highly desired

Quality assurance or quality control experience in a food related industry, strongly preferre d
