Description Are you well organized and have an aptitude for numbers? Robert Half is looking for skilled Accounting Clerks to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks for our clients in the Eugene area. Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You may also run accounting software programs (e.g. SAP) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers, and receipts. The successful accounting assistant should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Ultimately, a successful Accounting Clerk will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify expenses, and prepare payments to vendors.
Accounts Receivable: Monitor and follow up on customer payments, prepare invoices, and record transactions.
Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
Financial Reporting: Assist in generating financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
Assist in Audits: Prepare documents and assist during internal and external audits.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring adherence to budgets.
Requirements
Education: Typically, a high school diploma or equivalent is required, but some employers may prefer candidates with an associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
Accuracy: Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel) and general computer skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members and external parties.
Mathematical Skills: Strong math skills and understanding of basic accounting principles.
Ethical Conduct: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical accounting practices.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changes in accounting procedures and software.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues in the finance department.
