About the role
Electronic Music Club (EMC) brings music production to elementary students after school. We provide the gear—you bring the vibes and the know-how. If you love Ableton and working with kids, this is a fun, low-hours, high-impact side gig.
Schedule
Weekdays between 2:00–5:30pm (you’ll teach 2–3 afternoons/week)
Classes are 60 minutes, plus quick setup/tear-down
Start: Sept 2025
Commitment: At least one school term (ideally the full school year). Advancement: High performers can move into a Site Lead/Program Coordinator role after 1–2 terms with structured training.
Pay
$50 per class (group)
What you’ll do:
Transport and set up EMC gear at school sites (rolling cases; some lifting)
Teach project-based lessons (beat-making, sampling, synthesis, arranging, mixing)
Keep students engaged, safe, and progressing
Communicate with EMC and school site leads; keep gear organized and secure
What we provide
Full mobile lab (laptops, Ableton Live, MIDI controllers, headphones, etc.)
Curriculum with leveled projects + onboarding support
You are
Comfortable in Ableton Live + MIDI controllers (Novation/Akai/etc.)
Great with kids (elementary age), calm/collected classroom presence
Organized, reliable, strong communicator
Able to lift 50 lbs and have a reliable car
18+ and able to pass a school/district background check
[Preferred] 1+ year teaching/mentoring (camps, after-school, private lessons, etc.)
[Bonus] Bilingual, prior youth arts ed, K-5 classroom experience
