Nonprofit Part-time Full-Charge Bookkeeper

Part-time on-site position with flexible hours Mon.-Fri.

The Arc of Benton County is a nonprofit organization that provides advocacy and enrichment programs for people with developmental disabilities. The Bookkeeper is responsible for timely and accurate accounting of all financial aspects of the company and reports to the Executive Director.

Accounting Responsibilities

- Process accounts receivable and payable in Quickbooks or current accounting software

- Handle incoming mail

- Reconcile all bank and investment statements and petty cash

- Manage insurance payments

- Assist with gathering documents for external audit or review

- Prepare year-end reports and internal compilation every third year

- Initiate payroll and keep payroll spreadsheets

- Keep accurate accounts for grants and special gifts

- Attend Finance Committee meetings to provide information and answer questions related to charts of accounts

- Other related duties as required by federal and local laws

Administrative Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate records according to The Arc Financial Policies and provide information for monthly and other special reports, as requested by the Executive Director, Board and/or Finance Manager.

- Work closely with the Finance Manager to track grants and prepare regular reports

- Communicate with staff and vendors to seek and acquire needed information

- Work within the personnel policies and procedures of The Arc Benton

- Contribute input on revising and updating internal controls and financial policies

- Participate in annual budget planning meetings

- Maintain confidentiality

- Other related bookkeeping duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications and Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and at least two years of nonprofit accounting experience

- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

- Proficiency with Quickbooks, Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and Google Suite (Email, Calendar, Sheets and Forms)

- Excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills

- Contribute to a positive and friendly work culture

- Ability to work independently and with team members to meet deadlines

- Must pass a criminal background check

Hours/Compensation: 16- 20 hours per week; $23.00 - $24.25 per hour DOE
