We are seeking an entry level to mid-level client-facing Industrial Sales Representative to join our team. This dynamic role combines sales and project management, requiring strong troubleshooting skills to identify and address client needs effectively. As an Industrial Sales Representative, you will spend most of your time on the road, visiting client sites to assess project conditions, determine client requirements, and develop solutions. This position demands a high level of autonomy and self-drive.

This is a temp-to-hire position with a great company!

Standard 8-hour shift with potential for overtime.

Company vehicle provided with gas card, maintenance and washes.

Responsibilities

Sales and Account Management:

Achieve sales targets within assigned profit margins.

Ensure comprehensive geographical coverage of your territory through efficient account management.

Implement specific sales action plans for selected accounts.

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Michigan market.

Client Interaction:

Engage in significant face-to-face interactions with clients.

Maintain existing client relationships through regular visits and support.

Consult with customers on process needs and provide technical application support.

Product and Market Knowledge:

Develop demand for client’s products through service and technical specifications to distributors, contractors, and specifiers.

Promote projects by developing engineering specifications and contractor applications.

Maintain proficiency with current product offerings and market applications.

Stay informed on industry trends to spot potential sales opportunities.

Communication and Coordination:

Communicate relevant business information to internal and external teams.

Coordinate with operations teams to relay feedback and identify new product opportunities.

Qualifications

College education preferred, BA and BS studies , but degree is not required.

Preferred experience in industrial sales (e.g., petrochemical, chemical, pulp and paper involving civil engineering masonry and concrete projects ) and industries like pulp and paper, chemical processing, and power.

Ability to act independently and execute action plans.

Strong customer management skills focusing on sustainability, problem-solving, and communicating solution value.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Reliable, organized, curious, and ambitious, with a track record of achieving sales results.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams.

Up to 50% local travel for client visits and new sales opportunities referred as day trips allowing for return to home in the evening (Michigan and Upper Peninsula); willingness to accommodate overnight travel , typically schedule to be out of the local area for the 5 day week (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana Iowa) .

Valid state driver’s license required; vehicle provided.

Must pass a criminal background check, including driving record review.

TWIC card preferred; assistance provided. Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi only.
