School of Ranch, a local 501c3 nonprofit, is looking for someone to run our flagship welding program, Practical Welding for Ranch and Farm. You'll be teaching wirefeed welding to newbies and people getting back into welding. It's highly rewarding work, mostly in the winter.
School of Ranch (www.schoolofranch.org) hires skilled community members to teach heritage skills to newcomers and curious locals. Our mission is to teach heritage skills, pass our culture forward, and help people discover common ground regardless of politics, age, background or beliefs.
We pay $200 per session. A max of six people can participate. Each workshop is three sessions. We schedule these around your timing and what works for participants. We have equipment, but we need a home for this workshop. Ideally, you have a shop we can use. Longer term, through a partnership with the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch, we'll be able to hold workshops there.
Ideally, you have some teaching experience, but it's ok if you don't. We have a program called "guest star" that makes it easy for non-educators to run successful workshops.
This is the perfect gig for a retired welder looking to share their skills and help our community.
