Limited Energy Technician Class A (job description): 3 year program
Limited Energy A License workers install, terminate and maintain low voltage cabling and instruments. These processes include wire pulling, cables and supports, conduit, flex tray and duct, control panels and controls, wiring devices. Stock room, materials, and finish work are also included in these work processes.
They will also install, troubleshoot and maintain:
1) Fire and life systems including, fire alarms, protective signaling and nurse calls.
2) Specialized control systems including, HVAC, medical, boiler, clock and instrumentation.
3) Communication systems including, data telecommunications, intercom and paging
Work would be performed in Professional and commercial establishments.
Wages:
The Average Journeymen’s wage for 2025 is $40.35. An apprentice starts at 60% ($24.21) of that with 5% pay increases every 1000 on the job hours and 72 school hours.
