Locations: Bend
Compensation: $28.52 or $30.97/hour, depending on education (see position requirements)
Hours: Regular full-time 40 hours/week, subject to normal school year furloughs (furloughs are approximately a total of 6 weeks per year)

NeighborImpact’s Early Head Start Program Overview
NeighborImpact’s Early Head Start program provides comprehensive early childhood education and family support services to families with children from birth to age three, as well as pregnant women. Early Head Start aims to foster school readiness and social competence, ensuring children and families receive the necessary resources and support during the critical early years.
Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Early Head Start home-based program is designed to empower and support parents as their child’s first and most important teacher and nurturer. In this role, you will deliver early, consistent, and comprehensive child development and family support services to eligible pregnant women, infants, and toddlers. The goal is to build strong, nurturing parent-child relationships and to help parents create rich, high-quality early learning experiences for their children.
This role calls for fluency in both spoken and written Spanish and English. As an Early Head Start Bilingual Home Educator, you will design, organize, and document educational activities that fit each child’s stage of development. The position includes conducting weekly 90-minute home visits to support families in reaching their goals, as well as collaborating with colleagues to coordinate bi-monthly family gatherings. Ideal candidates will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, flexibility, and experience working with diverse or underserved communities. This dynamic position weaves together educational, social, and community-building responsibilities, helping families create nurturing environments and giving children the best possible start.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirements
Level II
Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, or Family Development or related field required
Required within 18 months of hire: 120 training hours, or 11 college credit hours, in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.
Level III
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Development or related field required
Required within 18 months of hire: 120 training hours, or 11 college credit hours, in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.
Other Requirements
Bilingual proficiency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is required
Availability for some evening and weekend hours required
Must have an initial health examination, and a periodic re-examination (as recommended by health care provider)so as to assure that employees do not because of communicable diseases, pose a significant risk to the health or safety of others, that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation.
Required prior to date of hire and thorough employment:
Valid driver’s license
Proof of current auto insurance
Access to reliable transportation
Current Food Handler’s Card
Current enrollment in the Oregon’s Central Background Registry
Within 60 days of hire, Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is required
Above certifications must be kept current to remain employed
Preferred
Experience in Early Childhood, social services, health or family support programs providing parent education and support preferred
Experience planning developmentally appropriate activities for infants and toddlers preferred
Education or experience in working with adults in a helping and teaching preferred
Head Start or Early Head Start experience preferred
Head Start or Early Head Start parent or past parent preferred
