JOB DESCRIPTION: Custom Pushrod Assembly/Shipping Technician
JOB DETAIL: The role of the Custom Pushrod Assembly/Shipping Technician focuses on accurately assembling, straightening, inspecting and packaging all Custom Pushrod orders and other products shipped from Smith Brothers Pushrods and supporting production of pushrod manufacture and shipping however necessary.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Will include but not limited to the following:
- Prepare Pushrod orders and other products for shipping by specified out time.
- Accurately assemble custom pushrods per sales order specifications and dimensions.
- Straighten assembled pushrods using arbor press to company specifications.
- Ensure that all orders have been filled correctly, verified by order inspection checklist.
- Maintain and distribute invoicing/shipping documents to the proper personnel.
- Support pushrod manufacture as needed.
- Monitor stocking/inventory levels as required.
- Assumes responsibility for other functions such as housekeeping, recycling, trash removal or simple maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all assigned projects are completed in accordance with the Smith Brothers Safety policy.
- Other duties as assigned by management or dept. lead.
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours or weekends if necessary.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
- Most successful candidates have some machining or engine repair or rebuilding experience
- Read and understand written and verbal instruction.
- Knowledge utilizing precision measuring equipment or instruments.
- Is mechanically inclined.
- Possess basic math skills
- Good organization skills.
- Forklift experience a plus.
- Detail orientation in performing accurate transactions.
- Proactively meets both internal and external customer needs.
- Effective work methods and consistently meets commitments.
- Effective communication skillsclear, concise and positive.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works primarily in a machine shop environment.
- Will on a continuous basis, stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs.
- Noise level is usually low-moderate.
- Schedule to be M-F, 7 a.m. start, 8-hour days.
