The City of Redmond's Engineering team are looking to add either an Associate or Project Engineer to their team. Candidates interested in either of the positions are encouraged to apply for one or both roles upon meeting the mandatory requirements.

Associate Engineer Monthly Salary: $6,037.00 - $7,681.00 (Grade 17)

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Under the direct supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), performs municipal infrastructure engineering, project management, and development review. The position assists the Principal/Project Engineer with planning, budgeting, and administration and delivery of capital improvement and private development projects. Responsibilities include overseeing and preparation of construction plans, bid documents and estimates, inspections, land use decisions and site plan reviews.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

Mandatory Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in civil engineering, or related field, from an accredited university.

Requires thorough specialized knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of civil engineering. Considerable knowledge of public works construction methods, materials, techniques, policies, rules, regulations, ordinances, and codes applied to the design and construction of public works facilities. Ability to apply and adapt modern engineering principles, methods, and techniques to the design and management of public works projects. Ability to plan, schedule, and review the work of technical staff. Ability to prepare designs, cost estimates and related correspondence. Ability to communicate technical concepts to others.

Special Requirements/Licenses:

Must be certified as an Engineer in Training (EIT) and must be able to obtain registration in Oregon within six (6) months.

Possession of or required to obtain within thirty (30) days from date of hire, a valid Oregon driver’s license. Must have a safe driving record.

Desirable Requirements:

For desirable requirements to be considered, one must have met the mandatory requirements noted above:

One (1) year verifiable work experience in a municipal (city/county) government performing similar duties as described

One (1) year verifiable work experience in design and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects

Project Engineer Monthly Salary: $6,989.00 - $8,891.00 (Grade 20)
