Central Oregon Truck Company is looking for a Controller to join our team. The Controller manages the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department and prepares financial analysis for operations. This position is responsible for the Company’s timely and accurate financial reporting, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports and supporting documentation submitted to corporate.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
Oversee the operation of the Accounting Department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
Review account reconciliations to maintain accurate account balances
Review and post manual journal entries
Maintain the cart of accounts
Provide financial analysis as required by the president and other operational personnel
Provide support to the corporate office for the completion of the financial statement and internal controls audit
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
Ensure that payroll is processed in a timely manner
Endure that monthly bank reconciliations are completed
Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Manage outsources functions
Comply with Corporate reporting deadlines each month
Implement an effective internal control environment for SOX compliance
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)
At least 5 years of public accounting experience
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Bachelors of Since, specializing in Accounting
CPA certification required

Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word
Computers, data entry, output, etc.

Able to type 40 words per minute and use a 10-key calculator
