High School Seminar Teacher (2025-2026)

Instructional Delivery and Assessment:Develop year-long unit plans and lesson plans that meet all students’ learning needs.Use assessment data to modify short and long-term plans in order to promote all students’ academic performance.Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement.Academic and Cultural Support:Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.Establish and maintain working relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.Participate in the daily functions of the school such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.Attend critical school events such as staff meetings, open houses, and parent-teacher conferences.Develop individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans to families in parent meetings and conferences.Meet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.College and Career ReadinessTeach a structured college and career readiness seminar curriculum for high school students.Assist students with completing college applications, scholarship applications, and writing personal statements.Guide students in completing FAFSA, understanding financial aid options, and developing financial literacy skills.Administer career assessments and facilitate discussions about post-secondary options, including college, trade schools, military service, and workforce opportunities.Organize and chaperone college visits, career fairs, and guest speaker events.Student Development and SupportProvide individualized coaching and support for students as they navigate the college application and career planning process.Help students set and track personal academic and career goals.Support students in preparing for ACT, SAT, and other standardized tests related to college admissions.Encourage and instill a sense of school pride and leadership within students.Collaboration and Community EngagementWork closely with school counselors, advisors, and teachers to align college and career readiness efforts.Engage families in the college application and financial aid process through workshops and informational sessions.Build relationships with college admissions representatives, scholarship providers, and community organizations to create opportunities for students.
