I am looking for full-time, part-time and on-call Route Delivery Drivers to deliver and pickup packages on an assigned route for a FedEx Ground contract. Day will start at Edmond Terminal and routes are within OKC area. This job pays a day rate so the expectation is an 8 hour day. During peak delivery season (Nov-Dec). Additional bonuses are available during peak season. Ultimately, you will help us increase customer satisfaction, making sure packages are delivered in a timely manner, safely and with a smile. To be considered for this role, you should have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with the ability to pass background check and drug screen. Note that you don’t need to have a car to do deliveries in; we provide drivers with our own vehicles while at work. Candidates who are flexible and willing to be on-call for shifts will be given priority.
Responsibilities
Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicle
Responsible for loading and unloading truck safely and with care
Pack truck efficiently, securing all packages to prevent any damages
Maintain and care for assigned delivery truck on your shift
At the end of every shift, clean your truck out for the next driver
Provide considerate and efficient scheduled package pick-ups
Basic handheld computer knowledge (IPad and Scanners) to document deliveries
Always perform job with a safety first, customer oriented attitude
Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions
Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed
Be able to consistently come to work prepared for the day
Skills
Proven experience as a Driver
A valid driver’s license
A clean driving record
Minimum visual acuity
Familiarity with GPS devices
Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
Ability to lift heavy packages
Availability to occasionally take weekend or on-call shifts
A polite and professional disposition
Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
A high school diploma
