Key Responsibilities
Provides the R&D organization and the company with expertise in an engineering methodology to enable state-of-the-art performance and independence of external knowledge.
Applies deep expertise in an engineering methodology in R&D operations and other projects.
Constantly monitors the further development of the area of expertise to keep up-to-date (e.g. publications, trainings, knowledge exchange through industry associations and R&D partners).
Prepares suggestions and decision-making papers for R&D management to initiate methodological changes.
Advises staff in all matters regarding FEA with a focus on structural durability and fatigue.
Maintain clear communication with internal customers to advise on design decisions.
Actively participate on internal cross functional teams to consider all aspects impacting design durability .
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering related field and minimum 1 year of practical experience.
Training in college-level courses in the fields of theoretical and applied mechanics, vibrations, fluid dynamics, physics, metallurgy, electricity, heat transfer, thermodynamics, machine design and computational analysis.
Computational engineering analysis work experience applied to drivetrain or chassis systems and components in areas such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), multi-physics simulation, or mechanical multi-body dynamics.
Academic and work experience with expert-level knowledge associated with commercial Computer-Aided Engineering ( CAE) software used for Virtual Product Development ( VPD) simulation.
Proven technical leadership in the VPD simulation community recognized through a track record of success in applying CAE methods to solve engineering problems.
Strong engineering fundamentals and comprehensive knowledge in specialized field.
Excellent insight into the performance of automotive systems and components and ability to quickly discern governing physics and develop relevant and accurate analysis and simulation models to predict performance or durability.
Proficient in Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis methods.
Ability to read technical drawings and interpret g eometric dimensioning and tolerancing ( GD&T).
Our Offering
Salary range: $75,000 - $120,000
Hiring Bonus: $500 after 90 days, $1000 after 180 days
