Day Shift - Fabricator - Up to $25/hrJob Description:Kaufman Engineered Systems is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling large-scale custom conveyor systems for a variety of industries, including bottling, food, and paper. You will perform MIG welding and custom fabrication on machinery, working with both mild steel and some aluminum. The work will involve layout, mounting various pieces for assembly , adjusting machinery to scale, drilling and tapping holes , mounting brackets , and mounting photo eyes . The fabricator will need to fit and assemble large pieces, including those with moving parts, and must have experience working with fit-ups to ensure seamless connections.Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate and assemble custom conveyor systems and machinery.
MIG weld on mild steel (3G plate steel to 11G steel) and some aluminum.
Perform fit-ups and connect various parts that work together with moving pieces.
Read blueprints to gather the necessary materials and fabricate parts accordingly.
Drill, tap holes , and mount brackets and photo eyes on systems.
Ensure proper assembly and adjustment of conveyor systems.
Maintain a clean work environment and assist with general shop clean-up.
Lift up to 50lbs as part of the fabrication process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:MUST HAVES:
Fit-up experience : Ability to fabricate and connect large pieces, ensuring they fit together correctly, particularly for systems with moving parts (such as conveyor rollers).
Question to ask : "What is your experience with fitting up large pieces and, secondly, what is your experience with equipment that has moving pieces?"
Ability to read blueprints and work from detailed drawings.
Experience in MIG welding in Flat, Horizontal, and Vertical up positions .
Must have own tools for fabrication work.

Work Environment:

Shift hours : 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (with flexibility for early starts and late departures, no later than 4:30 PM).
Pay rate : $20 to $25 per hour, based on experience.
